Personal profile

Research Focus

My research focuses on developing machine learning/vision methods for large-scale problems, e.g., Agriculture.

I developed several machine vision systems inspired by primates visual cortex. I also investigated informative regions of vision that corresponds to the recognition of objects and scenes. I recently developed machine learning methods that tackled a variety of challenges on large scale data in the fields of animal science, text mining and biomedical engineering.

I'm currently developing varios AI-based systems for two projects as follows:

  • Horizon 2020 (Healthy Livestock project): A combination of two machine vision systems that observe a group of animals and extract high-level behaviours, e.g., types of lying postures and non-nutritive behaviours.

More information about my recent research activities can be found here.
