Personal profile

Research Interests

My research interests are largely on conservation science. Using multidisciplinary and integrative approaches to conservation and biodiversity (combining surveys, biotelemetry, molecular, morphology, geographic and phylogenetic data), with a focus on providing evidence for conservation policy.

Team skate at Queen’s established, organised, and co-chaired the Regional Flapper Skate Working Group, focusing on research goals, collaboration and identifying knowledge gaps on a regional scale.

My recent practical fieldwork skills included satellite tagging, acoustic tagging, SPOT tagging and DNA sampling of the Critically Endangered flapper skate (Dipturus intermedius) and Basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus).
