Personal profile

Research Focus

I am a green & sustainable chemist.

We are focussed on projects that drive the green and sustainable agenda in the blue economy and the pharmaceutical industries. We specialize in molecular catalysts, biocatalysts, ionic liquids, and mixtures of the three.

We are actively engaged in: valorizing waste products and biomass from marine sources (shells, seaweed); the application of biomimetic molecular catalysts that clean water; the immobilization of enzymes for the synthesis of active pharmacutical ingredients; the design of greener organic chemistry for cleaner fluorination of pharmaceutical intermediates.
