I am a political sociologist and PhD candidate at Queen’s University Belfast. My research spans the fields of critical border studies and ontological security.
In my PhD research I am exploring how bordering practices developed to "take back control" of the Irish border after Brexit are impacting on questions of ontological security and experiences of belonging among border communities (specifically EEA+ nationals living in the Irish border region).
I also write and present on Brexit and political and social attitudes in Northern Ireland and the Irish border region in my roles as a Research Associate for the Centre for Cross Border Studies (CCBS) and in my work on the Political Attitudes Module for the Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey (NILT).
