Research Focus

My research background is in cognitive development, focussing on the development of counterfactual thought (thoughts about how things might have been different), emotional processes like regret (wishing we had acted differently in the past), and prosocial behavior (willingness to help others).

As a postdoctoral researcher, I have considered the influence of group membership on young people's cognition. For example, are youth more likely to trust and share information simply because the source of this information was an ingroup member?

As an ESRC NINE DTP postdoctoral fellow, I examine how combined prosociality and risk tolerance may be key to promoting outgroup inclusion, particularly where intergroup division is normative.
