Research Statement

Dr Bizuneh Yimenu is a Lecturer in Comparative Politics at Queen's University Belfast. Prior to joining Queen's, he served as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Birmingham's School of Government. He holds a PhD in Comparative Politics from the University of Kent, UK. His research has been featured in leading academic journals, including Publius: The Journal of Federalism, Regional and Federal Studies, and Public Administration and Development. In 2018, his PhD project was recognized with the prestigious Civil Society Scholars Award from the Open Society Foundations. Dr Yimenu has also held academic positions as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Kent’s School of Politics and International Relations, as well as Lecturer roles at Ethiopian Civil Service University, Ambo University, and Dilla University in Ethiopia. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
