Personal profile

Research Interests

My work contributes to advancing health psychology with the overarching goal of enhancing quality of life and psychosocial adjustment for individuals and informal carers affected by health challenges.

My work spans three interconnected areas:

  • Developing and evaluating psychosocial interventions that enable individuals with chronic and advanced illness to find meaning, autonomy, and purpose in their daily lives.
  • Exploring the role and needs of informal carers (family, friends, and community networks) in supporting individuals through advanced illness and chronic illness.
  • Embedding patient and public voices in the research process to ensure interventions are co-designed and responsive to real-world needs.

Across these areas, my research is applied and impact-driven, aiming to inform clinical practice, policies and support programmes that enhance psychosocial adjustment and recovery outcomes. I employ a range of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches to investigate these issues, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across healthcare, occupational, and social science domains.
