Personal profile

Teaching

I am a Senior Lecturer (Education) in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, QUB. I am a Registered Adult and a Registered Mental Health Nurse. My clinical position was as a Team Leader in a Community Mental Health Team. Prior to commencing my career in Higher Education, I worked in the Beeches Management Centre as a Nurse Education Consultant. 

I teach across all of year three modules: Evidence Based Nursing for Quality Improvement, Developing Leadership and Professionalism, Speciaist Complex Care and Interprofessional Working. I am Module Co-ordinator for year three Community and Integrated Care module. I also teach in the Unisimulation and Interprofessional Training for Nursing Students and Colleagues.

At Postgraduate level, I am Modue Co-ordinator for the programme 'Working with People with Dementia' which comprises of three separate dementia care modules. I supervise Postgraduate Masters Students in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. I am Personal Tutor to 30 Undergraduate Nursing Students and I am Link Lecturer in clinical areas in the Community, Hosptial and Independent Sector.

I am Deputy Chair for the School of Nursing and Midwifery Staff Development Committee. I am a member of the School Research Committee, Athena SWAN Culture Group, Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group and the Research Showcase Committee. I am a member of the School International Committee and represent the School on the USA/QUB partnership group. I also represent the School of Nursing and Midwifey on the District Nursing Career Pathway Steering group.

My main research interests include International Students, Internationalisation, Education and Dementia Care.
