Research Statement

I am a PhD candidate at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen's. My research focuses on the relationship between voice and power in contemporary working-class poetry.

My first pamphlet Aye ok is published by Speculative Books. Poems have appeared in Gutter, Poetry Ireland Review, The Honest Ulsterman, The Open Ear and The Rialto, and elsewhere.

In 2019, I won the Sloan Prize from the University of Edinburgh and was shortlisted for the Oxford Brookes International Poetry Competition. I was Highly Commended in the Newcastle Poetry Competition in 2020.

I hold an MA in Poetry from Queen's University Belfast (2019) and an MA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh (2017).
