Research Statement

My research examines the social bases of electoral and parliamentary politics. Most of this research examines the impact of religion, class, and ethnicity on party systems and voting behaviour. My research also focuses on parliamentary politics, including voting patterns, committee assignments, and legislative careers. I am also deputy chair of the Democracy Unit, a research centre devoted to the study of democracy from both empirical and normative perspectives.
