I am a Research Fellow within Queen's University Belfast working on a joint Mick Knighton Mesothelioma Research and British Lung Foundation grant investigating novel opportunities to enhance the efficacy of standard-of-care chemotherapy in malignant pleural mesothelioma.
My PhD research investigated targeting enzymes involved in DNA synthesis and repair in triple negative breast cancer. This research is within Dr Robert Ladner's lab at Queen's University Belfast.
My research interests include nucleotide metabolism, DNA damage repair and immune-oncology.
Targeting the base-excision repair pathway results in enhanced synthetic lethality following inhibition of thymidylate metabolism in colorectal cancer cells.Carson, R., Davison, C., McKechnie, M., Oliver Esteve, J. A., Stachtea, X., LaBonte Wilson, M. & Ladner, R., 2017.
