Dr Dagmar Corry (PhD, CPsychol, AFHEA, AFBPsS), originally from Vienna, Austria, has been a Teaching Fellow in the School of Psychology at Queen's University Belfast since January 2022. She has substantial experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including module design, course evaluation and revalidation, development and delivery of in person and online lectures, seminars, and tutorials, assessment, supervision (UG, PG, PhD), pastoral support, and administration. Broadly, the focus of her teaching over the years has been on (Clinical) Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Qualitative Research Methods. Her experience was gained at Ulster University (PhD in 2011), Wrexham University, and Queen's University Belfast, where she held part-, and full-time lecturer positions at various levels. 

Research Focus

Over the last 12 years Dagmar has gained extensive research experience, particularly in health intervention implementation and evaluation, especially around the areas of dementia and older adults at risk of functional (physical) decline. Other areas of experience include young people's mental health and help-seeking behaviour, and in terms of her doctoral research the role of creativity and spirituality in health. Dagmar's research interests span mental health / health & wellbeing across the lifespan and focus on the psychological impact of chronic stress and / or physical ill-health, including their effect on quality of life (with the inclusion of the family carer perspective), with emphasis on adjustment, coping, and building resilience. She is predominantly a qualitative researcher, and is a Visiting Research Fellow at Wrexham University in Wales.
