Research Focus

PhD Candidate in Geography.  My research concerns the municipal plastics recycling system in Northern Ireland.  I am treating this as a case-study using social sciences-based data collection methodologies, but situating it within a dynamic regional and global context. I draw on the Multi Level Perspective framework and similar STS literature to greater understand barriers and enablers for NI having a more resilient waste management system as a whole, and how current trends match up with stated policy aims like those found in Circular Economy Action Plan, UK Environment Act.
