David's teaching and research background is in actuarial science, finance, and financial history. His research focuses on the history of asset management, financial regulation, shareholder liability, and preference shares. David teaches financial engineering, and economics and finance for managers.
David Bogle is a Lecturer in Finance. David obtained a PhD in Finance (2022), MSc Finance (2018), and a BSc in Actuarial Science and Risk Management (2013), all from Queen's University Belfast. He graduated top of his undergraduate class. Prior to becoming an academic, David worked from 2013 to 2017 in the actuarial department of a Belfast pensions consultancy, assisting with a range of actuarial valuations. He has obtained the Certified Actuarial Analyst (CAA) qualification. David's research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics and European Review of Economic History, and he has teaching experience across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
