PhD projects
I am open to PhD applications on all aspects of ageing. For instance, I am part of a consortium who won funding from the Dunhill Medical Trust to launch a doctoral training programme on medicine use in old age. I am also third supervisor of Camilla Zampolini on a Northern Bridge studentship with her proposal on ageing narratives in US television dramas.
I currently have nascent projects on the following topics:
- the impact of the media on perpetuating ageism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- the impact of longitudinal studies of ageing on public perceptions of ageing.
- political demography.
