Personal profile

Interests

I am a lecturer in Structural Engineering at Queen's University Belfast.

I obtained my PhD and my first post-doctoral position at University of Palermo (Italy) working on seismic design of masonry and RC structures. After my PhD I worked for a few years as a structural engineer. I held a second post on design of Vehicle Restrain Systems in Trinity College Dublin before joining Queens' in 2013.

Research Interests

Design of seismic and impact resistant structures, multibody and finite element analysis, experimental tests on scaled prototypes are among my main research topics.

My current research focus is on shape memory alloys and fibre reinforced cementitious mortars for application in civil engineering.
