Research Focus

Dr. Hazel Khamanra is currently a Lecturer in Education on the PGCE Science course. She comes to us from her previous role as Head of Physics in a post-primary school in Belfast. In previous roles Hazel has taught Physics, Science, Mathematics and Technology and has enjoyed various pastoral and curriculum positions of responsibility.

Hazel is an alumnus of Queen’s University School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science where she completed her Ph.D. in the area of Wireless Communication Systems. After a number of years working in community development Hazel returned to Queen’s University to complete her PGCE before beginning her teaching career. Her current areas of research interest lie in Science Education, ITE Education, Education for Sustainable Development and STEM Education Recruitment.
