Personal profile

Research Focus

I am a General Practitioner (Family Medicine doctor) and Clinical Senior Lecturer (Education) in Queen’s University Belfast’s School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Science.  I am passionate about General Practice and the importance of high-quality community healthcare in effective health systems. I am currently co-leading development of Year 4 of the QUB medical curriculum; centred around generalist learning in primary care.

I hold both an MPhil and PhD in Medical Education and continue to research and supervise Masters and doctoral level postgraduate students across a diverse range of educational and primary care scholarship. My research interests centre around primary care, assessment and learning in workplaces. I use a range of critical approaches to shed light on these areas.
