Personal profile

Research Focus

I am a public health researcher with experience in artificial intelligence, behavioural science and systems thinking. My research aims to innovate in non-communicable disease prevention, particularly in urban environments.

I have a background in Medicine and a PhD in Public Health, both from Istanbul University - Cerrahpasa. I led health promotion activities and research and innovation projects in local health administrations in Istanbul. I taught public health, epidemiology and evidence-based medicine courses at Istanbul Medipol University. I did postdoctoral research at Queen's University Belfast exploring the causal effects of the urban environment and place-based interventions on health behaviours and non-communicable disease risk (incl. cancer, cardiovascular diseases, dementia, and depression).

Currently, I am working at Utrecht University contributing to the International Human Exposome Network project. I also continue collaborating with QUB researchers as a visiting scholar.
