Personal profile
Research Interests
I am an experienced and well-published entrepreneurship researcher and educator with specialist knowledge of the contributions of gender theory to our understanding of entrepreneurship. My work critically illustrates the predominant masculinity of entrepreneurship research and offers new insights using a gender lens. My recent work has focused on gender and entrepreneurial ecosystems with an explicit focus on the equity financing strategies of women entrepreneurs and the gendered nature of some of the challenges they face. This research has expanded my breadth of analysis to include angel investors and VCs in the United Kingdom (UK) and New Zealand.
