Personal profile

Research Interests

I am passionate about both, research and teaching on supply chains, logistics, and operations. In particular, I am interested in creating knowledge on sustainable supply chains that are economically viable, environmentally friendly, socially responsible (in line with SDG12), as well as robust and resilient to an occurrence of unexpected events. My key research area is focused, but not limited to food supply chains and related industries.

By now, I have authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles published in international journals and book chapters.

Teaching

I joined Queen’s University Management School/Queen’s University Belfast in October 2012. Since then, I have taught logistics, supply chain and operations management courses in management undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (in line with PRME), coordinated research seminars for the Management Group and supervised post-graduate and PhD students. Furthermore, I taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the area of logistics, operations and supply chain management at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering (Serbia) as well as in  international, specialized, agri-food MBA programs in Russia.

Over the years in QMS, I was teaching following modules:

  • MGT 7105 Global logistics and supply chains, which I upgraded in 2018 to Sustainable supply chains and networks, part of MSc International Business programme
  • MGT 2005 Operations Management, UG module in BSc Business Management programme
  • MGT 9202 Consultancy projects
  • MFT 7106 Contemporary issues in operations and supply chains

To date I supervised more than 50 MS dissertations, consultancy projects and academic research projects.

For the 2023/2024 I am designing two new UG modules:

  • Sustainable operations management
  • Contemporary operations management
