Research Interests

My research interests include understanding the mechanisms through which public health interventions targeting health behaviours achieve their effects. I am currently working on a project investigating the mechanisms through which social norms for adolescent smoking/vaping are established and transmitted in school settings in schools in Northern Ireland and Bogotá (Colombia). I completed my PhD at the Centre for Public Health in 2018, which focused on physical activity interventions for healthy, sedentary adults, with a particular focus on how to achieve physical activity behaviour change maintenance. I have also completed some work investigating the association of physical activity and sedentary behaviours with cancer risk for participants in the UK Biobank cohort study.
