Research Interests
I am interested in the overall notion of educational effectiveness and how we can do the best for children and young people. In particular I am interested in improving outcomes in schools.
I have a particular interest in research involving teaching English (literature and language), particularly reading, how we learn to read and reading interventions. I also work across sectors, including primary and early years education and initial teacher education.
Particulars
I am the Director of Internationalisation within the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work. I am also the PGCE English Convenor within the School.
