Research Focus
My current research is focused on the biomechanics of physically impaired individuals in medieval Ireland. I am looking at physical impairments on skeletal remains to assess how they functioned on a daily basis with these impairments, and what kind of care they likely needed from friends and family. These questions will be answered using using osteological analysis and radiography. Additionally, 3D computer simulations will be programmed to visualise the gait of these individuals.
