Research Interests

Degree in Physiotherapy from the University Center of Serra dos Órgãos (UNIFESO-2007); a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences (Physiology) from the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics (IBCCF), Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), PhD in Biological Sciences (IBCCF-UFRJ) with a PhD sandwich (CAPES / PDSE) at Semmelweis University School of Medicine (2012-2013). Postdoctoral at the Laboratory of Pulmonary Investigation at IBCCF-UFRJ (2014-2018). He is actually a Research Fellow at Queens University Belfast. It acts in projects related to 1) new therapies for treatment in ARDS; 2) cell therapy in ARDS; 3) mechanisms of potentiation and activation of mesenchymal stromal, 4) extraction and evaluation of the therapeutic potential of extracellular vesicles and 5) development of new therapies for the treatment of neglected diseases. He has experience in the field of Physiology, with emphasis on cardiorespiratory physiology and pathophysiology, acting mainly on the following topics: respiratory mechanics, experimental models, acute respiratory distress syndrome, cellular therapy, regenerative medicine, and pharmacological therapy.
