Personal profile

Research Focus

My main research is in Lewy body dementia (LBD), the second most common neurodegenerative dementia. My work to date has involved the clinical epidemiology of LBD and the use of MIBG cardiac scintigraphy in it's diagnosis. I am currently developing projects aimed at further exploration of the role of peripheral neuropathology in LBD pathogenesis, and the use of metabolomic analysis in differentiaing LBD from other disorders.

I also have clinical responsibilites with Belfast Health and Social Care Trust's Psychiatry of Old Age service.
