Research Focus

The main purpose of my PhD project is first to theorise collaborative governance for waste law enforcement and a triple nexus between environment, peace and security and examine how the former sensitive to the latter can enhance the quality of waste management and promote cross-community as well as cross-border engagement in peacebuilding and co-production of security in Northern Ireland. 

Research Interests

- Environmental peacebuilding and post-liberal peace

- Environmental security and greening security sector reform

- Green criminology, especially illegal wildlife trade

- Environmental justice & movements

- Conflict ecologies: Military impact on the environment 

- European and British environmental laws

- Comparative study of Northern Ireland peace process and the inter-Korean peace process 

- Transitional justice, especially truth and reconciliation process

Before starting my PhD project, I was fully funded by the Korea Foundation for a research internship in the Peace and Development Cluster in Stockholm International Peace Research Institute from February to November in 2019.
