Personal profile

Research Interests

I am interested broadly in the use of translation in the context of education and knowledge production/dissemination. I am also interested in the global position of English and the way in which its hegemony affects the production and dissemination of knowledge.

Beyond this, I have an interest in translation as a facilitator and tool of access and equality.

Teaching

I teach on the MA Translation and on the MLiberal Arts programmes.

I teach legal translation and community interpreting in line with my own professional expertise in these areas. Additionally, I teach audiovisual translation which includes the use of subtitling software.

I am convenor of Understanding Now: The Climate Crisis, a first-year Liberal Arts module.
