PhD projects

I am part of the political theory cluster in the Department of Politics and International Studies in the School of History, anthropology, Philosophy, and Politics. I am also deputy chair of the Democracy Unit, a research centre devoted to the study of democracy generally from both empirical and normative perspectives. My current research interests are republicanism, the ethics of work, and workplace democracy.

I am open to PhD applications in the fields of:
- political ethics
- theories/philosophies of work and economic organization
- democracy and workplace democracy
- contemporary republicanism
- just war theory
- the thought of Max Weber, Hannah Arendt, Jürgen Habermas, Alasdair MacIntyre
- contemporary political and social theory generally
