Dr Dyer has been a member of the QUB DClinPsych course staff since September 2009 and is Co-ordinator of the Diploma/MSc in Applied Psychology (Clinical Specialism). He is also a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead of the Psychological Therapies Service in the Northern HSC Trust. He has a specialist background in working with Complex PTSD and trauma after working in the Belfast HSC Trust Trauma Resource Centre for 4 years. He completed his undergraduate, PhD and DClinPsych qualifications at QUB. His current research interests include OCD, Complex PTSD, and the therapeutic alliance. In 2015, Dr Dyer won the prestigious May Davidson Award presented by the British Psychological Society’s Division of Clinical Psychology for clinical psychologists who have made an outstanding contribution to the development of clinical psychology within the first 10 years of their work as a qualified practitioner.

At postgradauate level I teach on clinical presentations, psychological assessment/formulation, low intensity interventions, and foundations of clinical practice in the Diploma/MSc in Applied Psychology (Clinical Specialism). I also teaching on clinical presentations, psychological assessment/formulation, and psychological therapies in the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
