Personal profile

Research Interests

My primary research interests are in understanding human attitudes to environmental resources through economic and psychological approaches, with a particular focus on how use and non- use values are assigned. My ultimate goal is to apply this understanding to effect behaviour change and achieve holistic sustainable development both locally and globally.

Research Focus

My current research focus is pedagogical in nature, with a key interest in approaches to the teaching of competencies in leadership and education for sustainable development, and the use of digital learning in higher education.

Teaching

I am Programme Co-Director of the MSc Leadership for Sustainable Development and module co-ordinator for LFE8030 Leadership and Management for Sustainable Development, LFE8044 Skills for Sustainable Development and the three Work Placement in Sustainable Development modules (LFE8032, LFE8032 and LFE8034).

I contribute to this programme and the BSc Environmental Management across the topics of environmental psychology, behaviour change, sustainable economic systems, industry skills, and social science research methods. I also contribute to the BSc Food Quality, Safety and Nutrition in the areas of food sustainability and food psychology.

I assist in the delivery of the BioSci strand of the Pathway Opportunity Programme.

Other

I am Digital Learning Lead for the School of Biological Sciences, and work to manage the transition to a Connected Learning model, through project implementation, dissemination of best practice and leading staff training.

I represent the School of Biological Sciences as their Racial Equity Champion and am involved in University-wide work on the Race Equality Charter.

I previously served as Chair of the Postgraduate Student Support Committee, and as a member of the School Exceptional Circumstances Committee.
