Research Statement

Current research activities include

modelling the fate and cycling of anthropogenic pollutants in the Northwest European shelf region, including climate change, microplastics and chemical pollutants;

pollutant uptake and exchange processes in marine ecosystems; impacts of climate change and man-made pollution on ecosystem functioning and ocean circulation/processes;

Engagement with policy makers, government, industry and NGOs; outreach to citizens and the public;

Wind and wave energy as potential sources of marine renewable energy.
