Particulars

Lalitkumar Vora obtained his Ph.D. in pharmaceutics from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (2017), and his M.Pharm in Drug Delivery Technology from the University of Mumbai, India.

His Ph.D. work focused on developing long-acting PLGA microspheres technology at the scale-up level for protein therapeutics, and this work granted him a European patent. During his Ph.D., he visited the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University, Belfast, for six months in the year 2016 under the prestigious “Newton-Bhabha Ph.D. exchange program. His innovative microneedle work with long-acting PLGA nano-microtechnology was awarded 1000 € with the “Resomer Award-2017” from Evonik Health Care.

From 2017 to March 2023, Lalit worked as a research fellow with Prof. Ryan Donnelly's Lab to develop the advanced microneedle array patch technology, and he contributed to various industrial sponsor projects (Teva pharmaceuticals, PATH/USAID, PATH/NIH(USA),  Kindeva, TSLR, etc.).  Same time, he was an assistant supervisor for 2 Ph.D. students, mentored more than 20 PhD students and actively supported more than 10 international visitor scholars within the school.

Currently, Dr Lalit is co-supervising 8 PhD students and 2 postdoctoral candidates as a part of Ocular Drug Delivery Reseach group with Prof. Raghu Raj Singh Thakur.

Dr. Lalit’s research interests are in the design and physicochemical characterization of advanced polymeric drug delivery systems for transdermal, ocular, and parenteral applications. In particular, his current research involves the fabrication and design of novel long-acting delivery systems of biologics for parenteral and eye routes with various therapeutic applications.

Lalit has authored over 150 scientific publications, 120 conference proceedings, 10 book chapters, and 1 textbook.
