Personal profile

Social sciences academic specialising in natural and cultural heritage, participatory mapping, and stakeholder engagement for sustainable development projects. I have a particular interest in remote and rural areas, and my regional expertise is in Scotland, the Arctic & High North, and Ireland. I am currently working on the coastal cultural heritage project PERICLES, as well as conducting my own research on industrial heritage in the Arctic. I also have a scientific background in environmental engineering and GIS, specialising in extreme cold climate water resources engineering with a particular focus on the Arctic. I am currently further developing my Geographic Information Systems skills with a part-time taught MSc in GIS, with which I am at the final dissertation stage developing a method for assessing coastal cultural heritage vulnerability in Svalbard.
