Research Statement

Leanne's doctoral research concerns ethical value pluralism and universal rights in the context of the UK.

Research Interests

Leanne's research expertise lies in constitutional law theory and practice, and human rights theory and practice.  She has a particular interest in research ethics concerning psycho-social trauma.

Leanne currently teaches for the Open University, and prior to undertaking her PhD worked in capacity building and rule of law programming for The Protection Project at Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and on legal policy and human rights investigations at the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission. She has also held the previous academic appointments of Research and Teaching Assistant for Queen's University Belfast, and ESRC Research Fellow and temporary Visiting Lecturer for the University of Roehampton, London.

Teaching

Leanne is a Fellow with the Higher Education Academy and has taught on the following undergraduate and postgraduate law modules:

Rights and Accountability; European Internal Market Law; Introduction to Law; Law, Culture and Society; Human Rights Discourses and Debates.
