Dr. Wang’s research interests include the isolation, structural characterisation and pharmacological evaluation of natural peptides and proteins that have therapeutic potential as lead drug candidates. She is interested in performing structure-activity relationships to optimize the bioactivity of these natural peptides/proteins as a method of rational drug design and in investigating the pharmacological mechanisms of their action. She have also worked extensively on the use of electrospray mass spectrometry employing MS/MS fragmentation to achieve the complete molecular characterisation of novel peptide/protein biomarkers of neuroendocrine cancers and in defining tumour subtypes according to their known variation in invasive and metastatic potential.
