Interests

Louise Pick is the Director of Education (Undergraduate Studies) in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen's University Belfast.  She is a Senior Lecturer (Education) and has current teaching interests in Thermodynamics and Mathematics. She was the Digital Education champion for the school, and has interests in the use of educational technologies and active learning techniques to enhance teaching and learning.  She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Before joining the school, Louise held the post of Academic Programme Manager for the International Year One in Engineering at INTO-Queens, a joint venture partnership specialising in providing pathway programmes for International students.  Within this role she gained experience in developing and teaching a wide range of stage one Engineering modules.

Louise's research background is in the area of polymer engineering, with a particular specialism in rotational moulding technology. Prior to returning to academia she worked in the industry as a research engineer for 8 years.  She continues to pursue her interest in research in this area through related student projects.
