Research Statement

My research involves designing and implementing lifestyle interventions for patients with advanced / high risk cancers.  I am particularly interested in the potential effects of exercise on disease biomarkers and the tumour microenvironment.

Research Focus

  • Intense exercise for survival among men with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer: a multicentre, randomised, controlled, phase III study (INTERVAL - MCRPC). Trial Coordinator.
  • Exercise for advanced prostate cancer: a multicomponent, feasibility trial for men with metastatic castrate-resistant prostate cancer (EXACT - MCRPC). Trial Coordinator.
  • CHALLENGE-UK: A UK cohort of the colon health and lifelong exercise change study: A phase III randomised control trial.  Intervention Coordinator.
  • Pancreatic cancer: Individualised supervised exercise: a feasibility study (PRECISE). Trial Coordinator.
