Michael McGarry

Michael McGarry, architect, urban designer, and teacher, born Dublin 1955, educated UCD Dublin and UVa Virginia, worked in London (Richard Rogers), Germany and Berlin (Josef Paul Kleihues and Internationale Bauaustellung Berlin 84/87). In practice in Ireland with Siobhán Ní Éanaigh since 1984.

RTPI Sir Patrick Abercrombie Gold Medal winner, RIAI Silver Medal for Housing, RIAI Award(s) winner, AAI Award(s) winner, CCCB European Prize for Urban Public Space, UIA Medal for Inclusive Building, Irish Nominee EU Mies Award 2022.

Professor of Architecture Queen’s University Belfast since 2009; Adjunct Professor RMIT Melbourne since 2014. Coordinator PhD by Practice in Architecture at Queen’s. Expert Advisor to the Ministerial Advisory Group on Architecture and the Built Environment NI Executive.
