EXTERNAL APPOINTMENT: I have been a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster for Optometry since May 2021.

Research Focus

I was UK Chief Investigator for two clinical trials, sponsored by Roche, called BALATON and COMINO, both investigating the safety and efficacy of faricimab for macular oedema due to retinal vein occlusion. Faricimab has since been approved by NICE for use for this indication.

EXTERNAL APPOINTMENT: I have been the RCOphth Regional Education Advisor for Northern Ireland since 2020 to the present, organising the weekly NI ophthalmology postgraduate class during term time. The topics rotate round ophthalmic subspecialities, involve talks and cases, and pharma sponsorship. They are hybrid, with approximately 15 typically attending in person and 20-30 online.
