Research Interests

My research spans the fields of conflict, urban and border studies, exploring questions such as the effects of Brexit on borders in and around Northern Ireland; and everyday life, space and conflict transformation in ‘divided’ cities. I have published on the effects of Brexit on the Irish border region; on urban regeneration, the development of ‘shared space’, the management of contentious parades and protests in Belfast; and on the role of visibility and movement in contested urban space.
