Biography:

I am a Research Fellow in Data Analytics in the Centre of Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences at Queen’s university Belfast. Prior to joining QUB, I was working as Research Associate in British Telecom Ireland Innovation Centre (BTIIC), School of Computing at Ulster University. Also, I have worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Nanotechnology and Integrated Bioengineering Centre (NIBEC), School of Engineering at Ulster University. I have received my PhD in Biomedical Sensor Data Analysis from School of Computing, Ulster University. I graduated from Hazara University with BSc in Computer Science, which was followed by an MSc in Computer Science (Network security) from King Saud University. Currently, I am holding an Associate Fellowship of Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

Research Focus

My research interests are broadly in Data analytics and Image analysis. As a PhD student, I have proposed and implemented different statistical and machine learning techniques to identify and detect change points in sensor data or time series data of different user activities. As part of the British Telecom Ireland Innovation Centre (BTIIC) project, I have worked on the real time data of BT process management systems and develop predictive analytics techniques to quantify threats and inefficiencies in the processes, performance bottlenecks and generate alerts. As part of the Nanotechnology and Integrated Bioengineering Centre (NIBEC) project, I have worked on specialised IoT boards with embedded sensor and connect it through Wi-Fi & Bluetooth to the cloud. Furthermore, the data analytics techniques were used to identify trends, patterns and relationships in the data. Also, I have worked on Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for Breast cancer detection in mammogram images and developed and designed machine learning algorithms for automatics mass detection in mammogram images.
