Personal profile

Research Focus

My research focuses around the interactions between marine fauna and humans, where I make use of various modelling techniques to investigate these relationships. I have undertaken multiple research projects in this area including studies into bottlenose dolphins in Aberdeen harbour and seals depredating from fishing lines in County Mayo, Ireland.

I am currently undertaking my PhD thesis which is investigating the risk posed by tidal energy devices to marine life. This involves me developing a collision risk model that can estimate this risk, with the end goals of producing a highly flexible tool for use by those going through the licencing process for tidal energy device installation.
