Research Focus

I am a second year PhD student and regsitered nurse working in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at QUB. I am currently working with Dr Gary Mitchell, Dr Laura Steele, Dr Nuala Flood and Dr Stephanie Craig to co-design a gamified e-resource which aims to improve attitudes, self-efficacy and behaviour change relating to healthcare decarbonisation for pre-registration health profession students (nursing, medicine, dentistry and pharmacy).

Research Interests

The common thread of my research is around supporting healthcare profession students to improve knowledge and practice via educational resources. 

My PhD title is 'Co-Design and Evaluation of a Gamified E-Resource about Healthcare Decarbonisation'.

Areas of interest include; co-design, nurse education, academic integrity, decarbonisation, sustainability, climate change, planetary health, critical care, pancreatic cancer, gamification and other asynchronous learning.

Particulars

I am a Registered (Adult) Nurse with a clinical background in Critical Care.

I am am the co-lead of the Royal College of Nursing Newly Registered Nurse Network NI (NRN). This network provides support and advocates for newly registered nurses in Northern Ireland. 

I am a current member of the QUB School of Nursing and Midwifery Sustainability Forum.
