Research Interests

For current research projects and interests, please see:

I am a Reader (Associate Professor) at the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Queen’s University Belfast, UK. I am also an Adjunct Professor at Duke University, USA. I have previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory - California Institute of Technology and Duke University.

My research interests include antennas and propagation, microwave and millimeter-wave imaging, metasurfaces and reconfigurable apertures, wireless power transfer and antenna measurement techniques. I have authored more than 200 peer-reviewed technical journal and conference articles, and served as a Technical Program Committee Member / Guest Editor of several conferences and journals in these fields. I have been the Principal Investigator / Co-Investigator on research grants totaling in excess of £10M in these fields.

I am the recipient of several awards, including an Outstanding Postdoc at Duke University Award (2017), Duke University Professional Development Award (2017), NASA Postdoctoral Program Award (2018), Leverhulme Trust Research Leadership Award (2020, £1M), Young Scientist Award from the Electromagnetics Academy - Photonics and Electromagnetics Research Symposium (2021) and the Queen's University Belfast Vice Chancellor's Early Career Researcher (ECR) Prize (2022). I am also an all-career top 2% cited researcher (Mendeley-Scopus, 2021).

I am a member of the European Association on Antennas and Propagation, Senior Member of the IEEE and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I serve as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, Scientific Reports and MDPI Remote Sensing.
