Research Statement

Dr Omololu Fagunwa is a microbiologist and his research is focused on microbiome studies for health promotion and disease prevention. His interests include elucidating gut microbes and their functions in various physiological conditions of hosts (Humans/Animals). Dr Fagunwa is currently working on the use of microbiome-derived antimicrobial peptides for bovine mastitis treatment. He also works on microbiome-based optimisation of dietary fibre for improved metabolic health.
