Research Focus
Pallavi Singh is a PhD student in business history at Queen's. Focused on exploring the long-term trends in capitalism and entrepreneurship, her research studies the interactions between globalisation and the social ties binding Indian businesses during the years 1857-1970.

Economic history, business history and social science history.
The relationship between capitalism, globalisation and culture.
Achievements
Before starting her PhD, Pallavi built, led and managed teams in audience engagement, marketing and communications at global multinational corporations, high-growth startups and digital news organizations, and helped build industry-leading digital products across industries ranging from media and journalism, art-tech, venture capital and digital real estate.
She has worked as a Long Form and Enterprise writer at Mint, The Indian Express and Hindustan Times in New Delhi, India and reported on emerging issues in political economy, business, politics and policy, inequality, caste and capitalism, culture, and true crime with a focus on South Asia.
She was an LSE India scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science and studied for an MSc in International Political Economy, and a postgraduate diploma in Print, Broadcast and New Media Journalism at Asian College of Journalism. Her BA (Hons) degree was in English Literature with Economics, Political Science and History.

Pallavi mentors art-tech startup The Bomway and is associated with The Bhagini Project, a not-for-profit Indian women’s collective led by students at Cambridge University, to mentor grad school applicants.
She writes op-eds for Moneycontrol, India's leading financial news website, and reports/writes #longreads for leading publications globally.
