Research Focus

I have been actively working as a Radiation Biologist for over a decade studying the pre-clinical optimization of particle therapy and next generation laser-based particle accelerators. My main interest is to study how radiation dose rate effects  can be exploited to maximize the therapeutic index through ultra-high dose rate and FLASH radiotherapy modalities especially in the hypoxic cancers. Using an array of 2D & 3D in vitro GBM stem cells models and state of the art methodologies, the aim is to exploit ultrahigh dose rate effects for inactivating most aggressive types of solid hypoxic tumours. With the immense support of experienced mentors and interdisciplinary collaborators breakthorugh results have been achieved and  lot more to do.
