Research Statement

Paul Winfree's research examines the development of the political economy of the US South during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. 

Research Interests

Economic History; US Political Economy; Economics of Media; Economics of Education; Institutions; Public Economics.  

Achievements

Former Deputy Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, and Director of Budget Policy. 

Chair of the J. William Fulbright Foriegn Scholarship Board. 

M.Sc. in Economic History (Research) from the London School of Economics; B.S. in Economics from George Mason University.
