Research Statement

In his report for the UK Sustainable Development Commission, 'Prosperity without Growth: Transition to a sustainable economy' (SDC 2009), Professor Tim Jackson, cites a lack of research on intentional communities and experiments in 'alternative hedonism' (Soper 2008).

My research on askesis, drawing on Foucault, Shusterman, and others, will begin to address this gap in sustainable consumption research.
